We remind you......
Gauze sponges for U.S market vary significantly in gauze types, cut sizes and unfolded sizes:

1. Type VII gauze per required by USP must be 18x8 mesh as the limit thread count and 18.10 g/m2 as the limit gram weight, and the two limits have to be met in the same time.
2. The thread counts and gram weights vary a lot in China from 16.3 g/m2 to 13.1 g/m2, or even lighter.
3. We suggest our customers to specify the weight per bag as the limit in your official specifications, it will help you to make an apple to apple comparision on the quality and price.

Paper used for sterile gauze varies a lot in paper type and gram weight:

1. Most Chinese factories use food grade paper or other non-medical grade paper which can not pass 5 years of shelf life per required by the pharmacopeioa.
2. We suggest our customers to speficify the medical grade paper as a "must " and ask for a certificate of use issued by Arjo Wiggins or other manufacturers of medical grade paper. At present there is no one factory making medical grade paper in China
